Born in 1980, Phillip Guzman spent most of his childhood in Europe, where he would stay until college. He attended film school at Stephen F. Austin State University where he graduated with honors in 2004. In 2006 Phillip wrote, directed and produced his first feature; the ultra low budget film The Lawless. Lawless went on to win several awards at a Hollywood film festival. This is where he and Mick Rossi, who co-wrote 2:22 and A Kiss And A Promise, first met. A Kiss And A Promise is the teams second outing together.

The following fall, Philip produced, edited, and was the cinematographer of his first feature film, The Lawless. Sense then, Philip has continued his creative collaboration with Phillip Guzman of various other projects. Philip Roy has gone on to when numerous awards at major festivals, including best Cinematography.
